Hello again folks!
I'm back with another 10 pack of rigs for your viewing pleasure.
Also, tomorrow, December 7, is Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, which will be the 82nd anniversary of those events.
But as for today, we have a trio of shots from Crossroads Ford in Apex, NC, showing off some mighty fine looking Super Duty models.
A couple F-550s.
An F-600.
I'm not too sure on the whole idea behind this model. Yeah, extra payload is nice, but this size chassis can only handle so much. These have hydraulic brakes, which are fine in normal applications, but when you go and add more payload and overall GVW, they are an issue. A "light/medium" like this is really too much for hydraulic brakes, when used regularly and fully loaded. The stopping power is questionable, and they'll use up brakes very quickly.
Ford, or one of the air brake manufacturers, should really design an air brake setup for this size truck, and offer it as a factory option.
Another F-550.
This place is like an all Super Duty truck show - like an art gallery to a Super Duty fan.đ
Moving on, we have a Mack Granite.
Another Granite.
And another Mack, this time an MD for Forever Clean, whose headquarters are in Fuquay-Varina, NC.
A sharp Peterbilt 379 for Demartino Trucking from Apex, NC.
Note the headlights - these double-rectangle-pedestal style lights were used for a very short time in the mid 80's. We have a 1984 359 that has them, and had them from the factory. These here are an aftermarket customization, but certainly give an unusual, but nice, look. I'd be curious about the development process behind them, and why they lasted only a short time.
A very nice Spartan Gladiator with a Smeal 100' Rearmount for the Fuquay-Varina Fire Department.
For someone who isn't all that familiar with fire trucks, like myself, it often takes a little while to figure out the make and model of one.
A Kenworth T270 for East Coast Towing from Raleigh, NC.
And a nice Peterbilt 378.
Again with the "WIDE LOAD", but no load situation. âšī¸
That's all for this round, thanks for looking!
Good catches must be a huge dealership
