Because so many truck shows have been cancelled/postponed this year (such as the Kenly 95 Trucker's Jamboree and the Southern Classic, both of which I was *really* looking forward to), I thought I'd open the vault, so to speak, and post some of my shots from various truck shows from the past few years, starting with 2018's Southern Classic. This will be the first round of shots from the 'Classic, with more to come very soon.
So, without further ado, here's the first shot: a super cool Autocar and tanker combo.
Next, a Peterbilt 381 "Needlenose".
A cool White 4000(?).
Searching for White trucks on the internet is very difficult, because it just pulls up trucks that are painted white.
An very nicely restored and maintained Ford L9000.
A Consolidated Freightways Freightliner.
If you've never read/heard about the origins of Freightliner and its connection to CF, I highly suggest you do so. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consolidated_Freightways
Another Freightliner, this one a sharp cabover.
A nice Freightliner FLD.
Don't see many FLDs at shows, which is a shame, they can really look good, as this one shows.
A much more common show attendee, a Kenworth W900L.
A 1974 Peterbilt 359.
A very customized Freightliner Classic.
And another customized Freightliner Classic.
An unusual but spiffy Mack.
I'm not too good at identifying old Macks, so I have no idea on the model here.
A very sharp and well maintained 1986 Peterbilt 359.
Another Peterbilt 359, this one a little older than the previous one. I'd guess early/mid 70's.
Those fat steer tires/wheels sure are cool.
A Western Star dump truck. Double unusual here; don't see many Western Stars around here, at shows or otherwise, and don't see many dump trucks in general at shows.
A super duper fantastically awesome Freightliner Cabover.
The "Gold Digger"; a sharp Kenworth W900A with what looks like a Mercury sleeper but could be one of the lookalikes that the Chrome Shop Mafia builds.
A super cool Carolina Freight Freightliner Cabover.
A nifty Mack Cruiseliner.
And another Mack, this one an unknown model, but definitely cool.
I hope you've enjoyed Chapter 1, stay tuned for Chapter 2 (and more)!
That was a great collection of pics. Tons of sweet rigs. I think the needlenose Pete is a 281 (ain't too sure, but I think 351 was designated only for tandems). Also, by looking at the custom "Coronado's" windshield, it actually looks like a Classic. To me it's a Classic with Coronado headlights. Anyways, really sweet shots.
Man that is a great batch - truly enjoyed those thanks
