Back on May 18, we made another trip to the Volvo/Mack HQ and ran across lots of interesting rigs.
First up, a true exotic, what I believe to be a Renault D18.
I think they're commonly used as car haulers in Europe, so maybe Volvo is testing if it would work here.
Not bad looking, really.
Next, a Mack Granite with unusual primer painted chassis components.
A really neat Mack Anthem built to Australian specs.
I'm not sure, but I don't believe the Anthem is being offered in Australia *yet*, so I assume this is a pre-production prototype.
I have to say, I really like that color blue.
What appears to be the test model for the new style Volvo VHD (notice the headlights are just molded plastic or fiberglass, as well as a part on the hood vent made from the same material).
Another Aussie, a really cool Mack Superliner CLXT.
Dig that "Road Train" sign!
I didn't even realize at the time that one of the new MD Macks was sitting beside it.
And as usual, each respective HQ building was displaying one of its rigs.
For Mack, a slick Anthem with lots of aerodynamic stuff on it.
And at Volvo, a VHD dump.
Thanks for looking!
Wow, those were some neat rigs
Those are very unique pics! Thanks for sharing
The D18 would probably make a good rollback for local work.
