Been a while since I've posted some train shots, so here's a five pack from April.
The first four are for YVRR, who are headquartered in Rural Hall, North Carolina, and are owned by Gulf & Ohio, who are headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee.
First, YVRR 8771, an EMD SD60M that was built in March of 1993 as Conrail (CR) 5536, then after the Conrail split went to CSX as CSXT 8771. From CSXT to YVRR/G&O.
YVRR 9540, an EMD SD70MAC that was built in February 1995 as Burlington Northern (BN) 9540 in the "Executive" paint scheme which it still wears. From BN to BNSF, and then on to YVRR/G&O, retaining the same number.
A really unique loco here: YVRR 3200, a Knoxville Locomotive Works SE32C, which was originally built May of 1971 as Norfolk & Western (NW) 1610, then on to NS 1610 after the merger.
It was rebuilt into its current state by KLW.
YVRR 2392, which started out in August 1975 as an EMD GP40-2LW for Canadian National as their CN 9613. It then went on to become YVRR 9613, which was rebuilt into a SLUG at some point and renumbered as 2392.
This is in the G&O corporate scheme, complete with GM&O (Gulf, Mobile, & Ohio) inspired logo on the nose.
And lastly, another EMD, this one Norfolk Southern (NS) 3299, an SD40-2 that was built in June 1978 as Southern (SOU) 3299.
Thanks for looking!
Really enjoyed these pics and thanks for including the background information on each as it can be challenging to discern the age of an engine.
