Hello folks, I'm back with another round of train shots!
First up today, a GE AS44C6M, NS 4103.
This one was built as NS 8802, a C40-9, and was rebuilt at NS's Juniata Locomotive Shops in November of 2018.
This one could really use a wash job.
NS 7125, an EMD GP60 built in September of 1991.
These were actually switching a local scrapyard (off camera to right), and had just backed in a cut of empty gondolas.
They had already added the loaded gons to the consist, visible at left.
I had wanted to catch this operation for years, and just happened upon it while in the area.
Working with 7125 was 7131, which is also a GP60, and was also built 9/91.
NS 5824, an EMD GP38-3.
It was built in November of 1980 as a GP50 for Southern as SOU 7060, then became NS 7060. NS would then rebuild it to GP38-3 specs.
Another GP38-3, this time NS 5806.
Similar history as 5824 - built as SOU GP50 7042 in September of 1980, became NS 7042, rebuilt by NS to GP38-3.
The GP50s and 60s were built to handle fast mainline freight, but are now almost exclusively handling locals.
That's all for today - as always, thanks for looking!
Great catches
