Western Star has revealed their newest model, the 49X.
A totally new model aimed at the vocational market, it has many new features and updates.
And a link to the 'Star site featuring the 49X: https://westernstartrucks.com/Trucks/49X/
-not my photo.
I'm not a big WS fan, but it's a nice looking rig, and I've heard good things about WS build quality.
Reminds me a little of the Freightliner FL122SD series, which isn't surprising with FL and WS being related under the Diamler/Chrysler banner.
Anyway, another nifty new rig to look forward to seeing. And a Western Star you can actually tell what the model is from a glance (which is a little difficult with the current and past lineup).
Looks like a rigid rig. I'm a bit surprised with the design of the cab. Doesn't look like the classic Western Star designs we're used to. It actually looks like a cab based on the Cascadia, and some of the sleeper specifications really remind me of the Cascadia. Don't want to go to far, but it seems like we're looking at a heavy duty Cascadia.
Thanks for the link- I read where they say it is a new build from the ground up and it’s interesting that it is lighter but mightier
From a distance kinda looks like a Coronado. Nice upgrades.
