I'd like you to meet the newest addition to the Class 4-7 portfolio, the Yakima, Washington based Rainier Truck and Chassis.
Manufacturing an attractive line of cabovers, with various available chassis, power, and transmission options, the Washington startup touts ease of maintenance and custom specification options.
They're now taking pre-orders via their (nicely designed) website: https://www.rainiertruckandchassis.com/
-not my photo.
I'm thrilled to see a new US based manufacturer of cabovers (or anything else, really), medium duty or otherwise, and as a bonus, they look nice.
I'd assume they'll be competing with the medium PACCAR cabovers, as well as the various foreign cabovers.
Hopefully we'll see some fleets pick them up (UPS is a good candidate, as well as FedEx and other various LTL companies). Coke and Pepsi could probably use the added maneuverability of a cabover, too.
Wonder if we'll see any tractors from them, or just straight trucks?
I'll have to keep an eye out for developments on them; I wouldn't mind adding one to our fleet...
This is some pretty surprising news. There's a lot of competition in the medium duty market, so let's see how this goes. The cabs of these trucks really look like the ones used on the Isuzu cabovers.
Very interesting information - based in USA is great and thanks for the good news
